The domestic cat is a small, typically furry, carnivorous mammal. They are often called house cats when kept as indoor pets or simply cats when there is no need to distinguish them from other felids and felines. Cats are often valued by humans for companionship and their ability to hunt vermin.
The International Cat Association (TICA) recognizes 109 breeds of cat. The New York Times considers the British Shorthair to be a breed of cat.[1] However, the TICA has only recognized three breeds of cats: the Turkish Van, the Balinese and the Turkish Angora (which is sometimes referred to as “Turkish Longhair”).[2]

Abyssinian: This Abyssinian is one of the most popular breeds in TICA’s championship classes in 2003.[3] The Abyssinian is known for its long hair that forms tight curls on their body and legs.[4] They have large deep blue eyes and black noses.[5] The Abyssinians come in all colors and patterns including reds, blacks and browns with white markings.[6]

Bengal Cat
The Bengal cat is a hybrid breed that was created by mixing Asian leopard cat and domestic feline. They are very large cats with long legs and coats that have spots and rosettes. These cats are very intelligent, active and playful. They love to play fetch and will even learn how to open doors to get outside if they want to.
British Shorthair
The British Shorthair is one of the oldest breeds in existence today. These cats have been around since the 16th century, although there were no records kept until 1871 when they were first recognized as a breed by the GCCF (Governing Council of the Cat Fancy). The British Shorthair has an easygoing personality that makes them great pets for families with children or other pets in the household. They are also known as âlapcatsâ because they like nothing better than sitting on their owners lap while being petted!
