Introduction
In a few words, growing a pet is one of the most costly things you could ever do. To be specific, once you get started on raising them, you’ll need to consider the supplies and maintenance costs that will come from it. If you’re prepared for these expenses, then the first thing that must come in your mind is what kind of pet do you want to grow, if not why not. Is it a dog or a cat? or rabbit? Of all the pets I’ve grown so far aside from dogs themselves, rabbits are my favorite kinds of house pets that I would recommend.
Isn’t it time you got a new pet? As we all know, rabbits make great pets. They’re smart, super-cute, and with the right training they can even learn to come when they’re called. The best part is that there are so many breeds of rabbit out there—you’ll have no trouble picking one that’s perfect for you and your family! In this post, I’ve listed my top 10 favorite breeds of rabbits.
Holland Lop
If you’ve been thinking about getting a rabbit for a pet, but are worried about its size and lack of activity, the Holland Lop is the best breed for you. These little guys have gentle personalities and enjoy being held and cuddled. They’re also easy to care for since they’re small enough to fit in your lap or on your shoulder when they get older.
The Holland Lop was originally bred as a show rabbit in England in the 1940s by crossing lop-eared rabbits with different colors, but it wasn’t until 1957 that the American Rabbit Breeders Association recognized them as an official breed under their name: “Holland Lop.”
Mini Rex
The Mini Rex is a small breed of rabbit, but they are not tiny. They also have long coats that need to be groomed regularly, as they can become matted and dirty if not cared for properly. The Mini Rex is one of the most popular breeds because it is easy to care for and tame; this makes them a great choice for first time rabbit owners! If you live in an apartment or have children who want a pet, then the Mini Rex may be right for you too!
Dwarf Rabbit
Dwarf rabbits are small and have short hair. They are not as small as Holland Lops, but they do make wonderful companions for children due to their size and friendliness. Dwarfs also do well in small spaces, so if you live in an apartment or condo, this may be a good breed for you!
They eat less than other breeds of rabbit because they’re smaller (yay!) which means that food isn’t so expensive either way!
French Lop
The French Lop rabbit is a great choice for first-time rabbit owners. With their long, floppy ears and large eyes, they’re easy to spot in the pet store and make for a great companion animal. They are also known for getting along with other pets and children—a big plus if you have kids who want to play with your rabbit.
And while they don’t require as much space as some other breeds do, French Lops still need plenty of room to roam around outside their cage or hutch. If you can provide this space for them then consider adopting one today!
English Angora Rabbit
The English Angora is a medium-sized breed of rabbit that originated in France. It is one of the oldest breeds, originating in the 17th Century.
The English Angora was bred for its long, soft fur. The wool is white and can be woven into yarn or spun into thread. Due to this trait, it is considered one of the finest rabbit breeds for both pets and furs.
Harlequin Rabbit
The harlequin rabbit is a small rabbit with a white body and black ears, eyes, nose and feet. The harlequin is not just one of the most beautiful breeds of rabbit; it’s also very friendly. It’s easy to take care of and will fit into your home perfectly.
Harlequins have been around for quite some time now, but they’re still relatively new compared to many other breeds. They first gained popularity in 1968 at the Dutch National Rabbit Show held in Arnhem where they took first place! Harlequins are known for being very smart which means you don’t need much training when it comes to teaching them new tricks either…
Flemish Giant
Flemish Giants are the largest breed of rabbit, and they make excellent house pets. They are very friendly, easy to handle and great for first-time rabbit owners. Flemish Giants are also good for children because they won’t hurt them if they’re handled properly. These rabbits can weigh up to 10 pounds when full grown, which makes them a perfect choice if you want a larger pet or one that is easy to handle (because their size makes it easier).
Jersey Wooly
You’ve probably seen a Jersey Wooly at your local pet store, but you may not have taken the time to learn about their history and personality. The Jersey Wooly is a breed of rabbit with a long history of being bred for wool production, but they make wonderful pets.
Though some breeders will tell you otherwise, it’s possible to find a pet-quality Jersey Wooly that does not need to be shorn every year as long as you brush her regularly. However, if you don’t have time for that sort of maintenance or live in an area where temperatures get below freezing often (below 30°F), then it would be best if your bunny was kept indoors all year round instead of only during the winter months when cold weather might otherwise cause them harm by making them vulnerable to frostbite or hypothermia.
In addition to being kept inside during the wintertime when temperatures are low outside so they don’t freeze off their fur and ears along with other parts such as their nose! This can lead later on down road problems like having difficulty breathing because no air gets into lungs due lack oxygen flow through nostrils which could result in death/serious health issues later down road due lack oxygen flow through nostrils resulting from not having fur on face anymore after losing part whole body because frostbite took place due constant exposure over many years being exposed outdoors even though we always told them stay indoors during wintertime only when temperatures drop below 30 degrees Fahrenheit which means any temperature above 30 degrees Fahrenheit will kill off entire body within minutes instead seconds depending how soon after starting running around outside until notice problem occurred upon returning back inside house again
Lionhead Rabbit
The Lionhead rabbit is the best breed of rabbit for your home. They are a cross between a lion and a rabbit, and they have striking white hair on their heads and faces, which gives them the appearance of wearing a small crown.
While they are not as large as their namesake suggests, Lionheads are still quite large when compared to other breeds of house rabbits. However, because they have such calm personalities and gentle dispositions, it’s easy to care for them in an apartment where space might be limited or in a house where children might be present. They make great pets for first-time owners who want something more interactive than just watching TV all day!
Silver Marten Rabbit
As you can see, the Silver Marten Rabbit is a great house pet for families with children. The breed is known for being very friendly and affectionate, making it an excellent choice for families who want a pet that can be enjoyed by all members of the family.
There are a variety of breeds with different attributes, so you can find the perfect one for you.

The main thing to remember is that whichever breed of rabbit you choose, it will still need to be groomed regularly and require a good amount of exercise. The size and temperament of the rabbit are important factors to consider, but there are many other things like color, texture of coat, breed type (fancy or lop-eared), age at which they reach adulthood etc… To help you decide on which breed would be best for your family I have compiled this guide that includes all the information you need about each one so that you can make an informed decision before deciding on adding one into your home.
