Breeds Of Turtles

Aquatic Turtles
The majority of turtle species are aquatic and typically live in shallow water bodies like ponds or rivers. They breathe air, but they can only remain on land for a limited amount of time before they must return to the water to soak up more oxygen through their skin.
Semi-Aquatic Turtles
Semi-aquatic turtles spend most of their time in water, but they also need to come out occasionally to catch food or bask in the sun. Some semi-aquatic turtles live at the bottom of deep ponds and lakes where there is plenty of food and shelter; others prefer shallow waters where they can easily rise out of the water when necessary.
