They were first bred in Congo Africa around 3,000 years ago as hunting dogs by pygmy tribesmen who used them to hunt small game such as antelope, hare and rodents.

The Belgian Malinois

Belgian Malinois are powerful working dogs known for their agility, strength and stamina which makes them perfect for police work as well as search and rescue missions. They were originally bred by farmers in Belgium to herd sheep but

There are hundreds of breeds of dog in the world. Some of them are very popular and well known, while others are not so much.

Here are some of the most popular:

Labrador Retriever – This is a large breed that is commonly used as a therapy dog, seeing eye dog and rescue dog. They are very smart and love to play. They have short hair which can be brown or black and their coat needs to be brushed daily.

Golden Retriever – Another large breed that works great as a rescue dog. They are extremely loyal and affectionate with their owners but will not tolerate strangers in their territory without proper introduction. Their coat needs to be brushed daily to keep it looking healthy and shiny. They can come in shades of gold or cream with white markings on their faces.

Beagle – This is a small sized breed that has long floppy ears that hang down to his chest when they stand still. Their coats can be either smooth or rough depending on how much exercise they get each day. They need their nails clipped every couple weeks because if they grow too long they will start tearing up your floors!
